The project proposal is a key part of the project. It provides you with the opportunity to clarify your understanding of the aims and objectives of the project, and helps you to start identifying the boundaries of the project. Importantly, it ensures that your view of the project coincides with that of your project supervisor.
The coursework specification for the Project Proposal is available from the link given below. Further details on the content and purpose of the Project Proposal are provided within Lecture 2.
This work is formative ... the submission will be marked for comment and feedback, but not as a part of the assessment for the project. However, an inadequate proposal will mean that you are not given permission to start on the main work of the project until an adequate proposal has been submitted.
These are example project proposals. Use them as a guide to supplement the lecture material, but do not copy!
Feedback will be provided using mark sheets, which will be completed by the Project Supervisor and the Unit Lecturer. Here is an example marksheet which has been filled in for an [anonymous] student. You should be able to compare the remarks made on the mark sheet with the grade requirements given at the end of the coursework specification and see why this student was awarded a 2:2 grade.[an error occurred while processing this directive]
