Visitor, welcome to my homepage.

In April 2002, I joined the Department of Computer Science, University of Bath as lecturer, after finishing my Doctor of Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.

My main research interests focusses on knowledge representation and reasoning, with an emphasis on Answer Set Programming (ASP) I am interested in both theoretical and application-oriented challenges. With my collaborators, I am investigating the relation between the theoretical model underpinning ASP and game theory, looking at software engineering and methodolgy aspects of the answer set programming and developing applications of ASP in the areas of compiler theory, music composition , policy design and verification and multi-agent systems .
Besides answer set programming, I am interesting in multi-agent models of wireless network protocols, web-services and norm-aware systems.
Outside computer science but related to it, I am also active in educational research with my main focus on computer science in higher education.

From October onwards, I will be a PCAP (Post-graduate Certificate in Academic Practice) advisor. I am member of the University's CPAP committee. On departmental level, I am on the teaching, staff student liaison, research and system's committee. I am also on the board of examiners. As the editor, I take care of the department's technical report series. I also act as Special Personal Tutor for under 18's.

Students, I maintain an open-door policy. If the door is open, you are most welcome to drop by whether it is for discussing your study progress, difficulties you are experiences, the classes I teach or your project. If you want to make sure I can see you at a specific time, do not hesitate to contact me via email and we can find a time that is convenient for the two of us.
If you are interested in one the projects I have online for Bsc. or Msc. students or if you have your own idea, ask for an appointment as soon as possible so that we can discuss it and tailor it to your needs.
