Current Projects
User-aided Single Image Shadow Removal
The left picture is the original image input and the right one is the corresponding shadow-free image processed by our proposed method. The test image here is taken from Flicker and is Creative Commons-licensed.
Single image shadow removal is currently an open and ill-posed problem. In this project, we will seek to develop a training-independent single image shadow removal method. The method will eliminate artifacts in penumbra removal from previous work and will accurately simulate the original view of covered umbra area. Users will be able to remove shadows in single images by only supplying very rough hints. Shadow editing is one of the potential applications of this project.
N.B. I will unveil the technical details and more test results after I publish this work.

Cycling
I like cycling and enjoy cycling to the university every single working day. I hate helmets but I have to wear as I can hardly find cycle lanes in Bath. You may find Bath University Bicycle User Group interesting. |
